One bill requires the state’s Department of Human Services website to post and update information on available beds at facilities that treat substance use disorders. The bills also require education officials to inform parents of high school athletes and cheerleaders about risks associated with opioid misuse and permits hospice programs to accept excess prescription opioids from patients for safe disposal.
President Donald Trump tapped Mr. Christie to lead the Commission on Combating Drug Addiction and the Opioid Crisis in March.
