Ebola outbreak is over: WHO

Uganda officials declared the end of the Ebola outbreak less than four months after the first case was confirmed, the World Health Organization said Jan. 11.

In total, there were 164 reported cases, including 142 confirmed cases and 22 probable cases, 55 confirmed deaths and 87 recovered patients. The overall case-fatality ratio was 47 percent, according to the report.

The last known Ebola patient was discharged from a hospital in Uganda in November.
