Cleveland Clinic. In 2011, Cleveland Clinic committed to the Better Buildings Challenge issued by President Barack Obama to reduce energy use by 20 percent. Since then, it has reduced its energy demand by 12.3 percent through a range of programs, like LED lighting and standardizing the number of air exchanges, room temperature and humidity in operating rooms. Cleveland Clinic is no stranger to recognition for its commitment to the environment: In 2016, for the fourth straight year, Practice Greenhealth gave the hospital its Top 25 Environmental Excellence Award.
