Children’s Health (Dallas).Children’s Health is the second-largest healthcare system user of renewable energy in the nation, and it is on track to become the largest renewable electricity user among pediatric healthcare providers. Renewable energy provides around 25 percent of the health system’s total electricity as of July 2016, and the health system’s facilities feature motion-sensor lights to reduce unnecessary energy use. Children’s Health also supports sustainable cleaning supplies, green-certified equipment and environmentally friendly pest management. Through its recycling programs, Children’s Health has helped save more than 600 trees in the past five years.
