Children’s Health (Dallas). As of July, about a quarter of Children’s Health’s total electricity use is backed by renewable energy credits, equivalent to removing more than 16 million pounds per year of carbon dioxide from nature. Additionally, according to data collected by the Environmental Protection Agency, Children’s Health is the second-largest healthcare system user of renewable energy in the nation. Children’s Health Sustainability Council, which includes members from a variety of positions within the system, is in place to identify ways for the system to be more environmentally sustainable.
