Loma Linda (Calif.) University Medical Center, Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton and Pomona (Calif.) Valley Hospital Medical Center will form the initial network, with plans for San Antonio Community Hospital in Upland, St. Mary Medical Center in Apple Valley and Redlands (Calif.) Community Hospital to join next year.
The program, run by the Inland Counties Emergency Medical Agency, calls for emergency medical service providers to transport suspected stroke patients to the nearest hospital in the network.
The network expects to launch the program on Dec. 15.
