Under the program, patients at Phoenixville Hospital with stroke symptoms can consult with neurologists at AMH, who will staff the telemedicine service 24/7. AMH neurologists will be able to communicate with Phoenixville patients via video and access their medical information on a computer.
If an AMH neurologist determines a patient needs rt-PA, a medication used to treat stroke symptoms, the patient will be transferred to AMH for interventional or surgical procedures.
