Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital leads the Advocate Health system in purchasing Healthier Hospitals-compliant furniture, with 75 percent of furniture being void of target chemicals, excluding beds and mattresses. In 2017, the hospital earned Practice Greenhealth’s Greening the OR Recognition Award and garnered Practice Greenhealth’s highest honor, the Top 25 Environmental Excellence Award. The awards come as Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital opened its modernized West Tower this year, an environmentally sustainable 96-room space proposed to meet LEED Silver certification.
