Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital (Downers Grove, Ill.). This Advocate hospital, which celebrates 40 years of serving patients this year, was honored with Practice Greenhealth’s Top 25 Environmental Excellence Award for 2016. It also earned a place in Practice Greenhealth’s Leadership Circle and its Chemicals Circle, meaning it has a strong infrastructure supporting long-term commitment to healthier environments and also has sound chemical reduction policies and practices. Advocate Good Samaritan is in the process of building a new three-story bed tower, set to open in 2017, that is undergoing LEED certification.
