Potential mumps outbreak under investigation at SUNY Buffalo

The New York state Department of Health says SUNY Buffalo has identified two probable and four suspected cases of the mumps in students, according to The Buffalo News.

The university is reviewing immunization records to identify students who may need to either be vaccinated or excluded from school when classes resume. Students are on spring break through March 21.

This potential infection news comes on the heels of several other mumps outbreaks on college campuses, including: Harvard University in Cambridge, Mass., the University of Kentucky in Lexington and three universities in Indiana.
