Patient safety tool: AWHONN releases fetal heart monitoring e-book

The Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses has released their first e-book: the fifth revision of "Fetal Heart Monitoring: Principles and Practices."

The new e-book is useful for perinatal clinicians who use fetal monitoring techniques in antepartum and intrapartum practice.

Topics covered in the tool include:

  • Physiologic basis for fetal and uterine monitoring
  • Interpretation of fetal heart and uterine patterns
  • Physiologic interventions for fetal tracing characteristics and patterns
