The national award recognizes one health system annually for outstanding patient safety efforts.
Since 2018, Texas Health Resources has decreased its rate of serious safety events by nearly 50 percent. The health system said use of high reliability organization tools and strategies — including daily safety briefings, and tracking safety events and near misses via an online tool — have contributed to its success.
Texas Health Resources received the award Sept. 13 at the association’s annual conference in Boston.
