1. Complete patient screening before the day of surgery.
2. Confirm the patient’s identity, type of surgery and necessary medication before beginning the procedure.
3. Provide a holding area for patients to wait before their surgery.
4. Ensure each case starts and ends on time.
5. Have all necessary equipment sterilized and prepared for the day’s surgery.
6. Make beds in the post-anesthesia area available for patients coming out of surgery.
7. Confirm the patient’s post-surgery transportation arrangements.
