Other patient volume numbers include the following:
• In FY12 there were 530,918 outpatient visits, a 45.4 percent increase over last year, primarily due to the June 2011 merger with Kansas City Cancer Center, according to the release.
• There were 18,867 total surgeries in FY12, an increase of 6.4 percent over last year.
• There were 47,771 emergency department visits in FY12, a 4.8 percent increase over last year.
This year the hospital added three floors to its Center for Advanced Heart Care, six new operating rooms on the main campus and six operating rooms at the Indian Creek campus. These additions are expected to increase volume over the coming year.
