Under the agreement, HealthTrust member hospitals can leverage the group’s buying power to purchase Sotera’s ViSi Mobile® System, which enables broader surveillance of patients during their hospital stays.
The ViSi Mobile System is a wearable platform that continuously monitors vital signs and wirelessly communicates data to clinicians. The system is intended to enhance patient safety by enabling early detection of patient deterioration. Early detection, and continuous and immediate access to vital sign data, can help ensure a successful response to rescue situations and contribute to the prevention of adverse events.
“Our clinicians at Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital (a campus of Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, a HealthTrust member facility) are able to use the continuous data from the ViSi Mobile System to identify early signs of patient deterioration, which can help prevent adverse events,” explains David Handley, hospital CEO. “In addition to supporting patient safety, the use of the ViSi Mobile system is in alignment with Methodist Healthcare System’s effort to provide exceptional care to all our patients every minute of the day.”
