The clinic, part of the Sentara-EVMS Comprehensive Sickle Cell Program, aims to provide local care for adults with sickle cell disease. Previously, patients in the Hampton Roads area faced long travel for specialized treatment of the disease, according to an Oct. 7 Sentara news release.
The facility will provide access to specialists in internal medicine, hospital medicine, pain management and psychiatry.
