Brandon Leroy Sier, 24, allegedly made the threats when visiting his girlfriend, a hospital patient, April 23, according to a Washington County Sheriff’s Office news release cited by the report.
Authorities said Mr. Sier allegedly told his girlfriend he wanted her to leave MMC and tried to take the woman’s IV out.
“[Mr.] Sier was very upset and made the statement that he would bring people with ‘AKs’ to the hospital,” the release reads. “The female stated she did not wish to leave the hospital and is scared of [Mr.] Sier. The female explained there are shotguns, pistols and knives in their home.”
The woman also told authorities she thought she saw Mr. Sier carrying a revolver with him when he video chatted her from outside MMC. She said she believed Mr. Sier could and would carry out the threat, according to the report.
Hospital staff and authorities were notified of the incident. Detectives later located a video on Mr. Siers’ Facebook page in which he criticizes hospital staff, and, after executing a search warrant, found and seized a .22 caliber rifle at Mr. Sier’s home, according to the report. Authorities note Mr. Sier is on pre-trial supervision for a separate pending case and is barred from owning, possessing, using or having under his control a dangerous weapon or firearms.
Mr. Sier was arrested and charged with threats of mass violence, according to authorities.
