The malfunction, which shut down the hospital’s air conditioning system for more than three hours Wednesday, may have cost millions of dollars in damaged supplies, a medical staff member told the website.

During the incident, several surgical cases were moved to Women & Babies Hospital in Lancaster, and emergency room and trauma cases were diverted from 7:30 p.m. Wednesday until just after 10 a.m. Thursday, LGH spokeswoman Rosanne Placey said, according to the report. She added that all of Thursday’s scheduled surgeries were also canceled while LGH looked into the situation. The surgeries are expected to be rescheduled.

Temperature and humidity conditions in the operating room suites were fully back to normal Thursday, and staff was slowly getting back to normal operations, Ms. Placey told LancasterOnline.
