Kaiser confirmed in a July 12 tweet the building was temporarily evacuated after an air conditioning failure just before 10:30 a.m., according to the report.
“There were no hazmat issues, in fact it was a faulty air conditioner … due to the temperature rising we decided to evacuate the building,” a Kaiser spokesperson said in a July 12 email to the publication. “The air conditioner in the building is working now, everyone has reported back and all business functions are restored.”
Area temperatures reached at least 95 degrees at the time.
The Press Enterprise said the six individuals’ injuries were described as minor to moderate. It is unclear how many people were forced to leave the building.
