Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Health is forming a strategic affiliation with Tampa, Fla.-based Shriner Children’s to deliver high-quality, specialized pediatric care in Nevada.
The affiliation is designed to create an integrated pediatric orthopedic and rehabilitation service line for both local and regional communities. Shriners Children’s will open an independent pediatric orthopedic clinic this summer, at the newly constructed Intermountain Health Badura Clinic in Las Vegas.
The affiliation also plans to collaborate on clinical models by coordinating best-practice clinical protocols, data sharing and clinical integration across care settings. Shriners Children’s will also provide dedicated resources to support Intermountain Health Nevada Children’s Hospital, and strengthen its pediatric orthopedic and rehabilitation services.
Shriners Children’s is also providing financial assistance to patients receiving services through the hospital and service line in coordination with Intermountain’s financial assistance program and third-party payers.
“By bringing together Intermountain’s resources, clinical expertise and deep commitment to community health with the specialized capabilities of Shriners Children’s, we’re strengthening a model of care that improves access, supports families and helps kids get the right care when they need it most,” Mitch Cloward, Intermountain Health region president, said in the news release.
