Conway (Ark.) Regional Medical Center evacuated its emergency department after a cooling tower on a lower level roof caught fire.
The Conway Fire Department was called to the fire at 6:02 a.m. April 5, according to a hospital statement posted on Facebook. The ED was temporarily put on diversion and services were consolidated to an unaffected area of the hospital. No one was harmed during the incident.
The fire was extinguished by 6:20 a.m. The affected area was evaluated and cleared by the fire department, and ED services resumed.
“Patient care remains our top priority, and we appreciate the swift response of our team members and first responders in ensuring the safety of everyone involved,” the Facebook post said.
