Police are unsure what prompted Joseph Pyne, 43, to assault a 28-year-old woman. When a 45-year-old woman tried to intervene, Mr. Pyne assaulted her as well, according to police.
Security guards at MorristownMedicalCenter stepped in and stopped Mr. Pyne until police arrived.
Hospital staff evaluated the women, and they were released due to a lack of life-threatening injuries.
Mr. Pyne has been charged with one count of aggravated assault. He is in jail on a $25,000 bail, according to MorristownGreen.com.
