2 patients injured in rehab hospital fire

Two patients at North Port (Fla.) Rehabilitation Center were injured in a fire at the facility, Fox 13 News reported Oct. 8.

Firefighters said the incident occurred around 3:40 p.m. They discovered an extinguished fire in the bed of a patient who suffered severe burns. The patient was transported to a medical facility for evaluation and treatment.

A second patient who was in the same room is also under evaluation for treatment.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
