1 in 5 Physician Practices Employ Care Coordinators

More than 20 percent of physician practices employ care coordinators, according to the 2013 Staff Salary Survey by Physicians Practice.

Care coordinators can be anyone whose role is to help patients access services to maintain their health, including nutrition counselors and social workers, according to the survey.

This is the first year the survey has asked about care coordinators. Physicians Practice surveyed roughly 1,000 practices for this year’s report.
