A second summary order also directs the hospital to stop admitting new patients, cancel all surgeries and procedures, suspend any activities that depend upon laboratory services and develop a plan to transfer inpatients to other facilities. According to the news release, the inpatient transfers are necessary because the lack of a clinical laboratory at the facility poses a danger and threat to the health of current and future patients.

Peninsula Hospital filed for bankruptcy last year.
