The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford (Pa.) and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center partnered to give UPMC registered nurses access to the university’s online registered nurse-bachlor’s of science in nursing, or RN-BSN, degree program.
Under the agreement, grants and UPMC health system will cover tuition so nurses can earn the online degree at no cost, according to a May 8 university news release shared with Becker’s. The program allows nurses to earn their BSN in an asynchronous fashion while maintaining their full-time job.
Many UPMC nurses hold an associates degree in nursing, and are seeking ways to earn their bachelor’s, the release said.
