Nurse.org, an online website and community of nurses, launched a new campaign to raise awareness about #TheREALNursingShortage, a crisis that has been exacerbated in the wake of the pandemic, according to a Sept. 24 news release.

Providence-based Rhode Island Hospital was forced to close part of its emergency department Sept. 23 because of a nursing shortage, according to the Boston Globe. 

Watertown (Wis.) Regional Medical Center is temporarily closing its urgent care so urgent care staff can assist in the emergency department, it said Sept. 20 in a Facebook post.
