North Carolina hospital taps chief nurse

Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford, N.C., has appointed Mylissa Hess, DNP, as chief nursing officer. 

Dr. Hess most recently served as market CNO for SageWest Health Care, a two-hospital system with campuses in Lander and Riverton, Wy. Prior to this role, she was CNO of Roosevelt General Hospital in Portales, N.M., according to a Jan. 30 news release. 

Dr. Hess has also served as a critical care nurse in the United States Navy Nurse Corps for the past decade, reaching the rank of Lieutenant Commander.

She stepped into her new role Jan. 26.
