Mayo Clinic in Florida and Jacksonville (Fla.) University are collaborating to launch a direct entry Master of Science in Nursing program in fall 2026.

The program will enable individuals with a bachelor’s degree in any field to transition into nursing, according to a Feb. 3 university news release. The first cohort of students will matriculate this fall. Graduates will be prepared to take the NCLEX exam upon graduation and begin their careers as registered nurses with advanced preparation in leadership and clinical decision-making, according to the release.

“Mayo Clinic is honored to host Jacksonville University nursing students as part of our commitment to developing a highly skilled, compassionate, and practice‑ready workforce,” Tera Gross, DNP, RN, chief nursing officer for Mayo Clinic in Florida, said in the release. “This collaboration builds a strong pipeline of future nursing professionals who are prepared to lead and innovate in patient care.”

The master’s program will use Mayo Clinic’s Dedicated Education Unit framework. The model immerses students in a concentrated learning environment where they rotate through the same unit and work with nurse mentors.
