The American Nurses Association named Anita Girard, DNP, RN, president.
Dr. Girard will serve as ANA’s 39th president starting Jan. 1, according to a June 27 association news release. She will focus on implementing the association’s 2026-2030 strategic plan.
Dr. Girard currently serves as the ANA’s vice president and president of ANA/California. Previously, she spent four years as the chief nursing officer and vice president of nursing at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
