The awards, sponsored by Stryker, recognize nurse innovators for their contributions to improve patient safety and outcomes through a “product, program, project or practice.” There is a $25,000 prize for the individual nurse award and a $50,000 prize for the team-led award.
In March, the ANA named recipients for the 2023 awards, which recognized efforts to create a primary care model led by nurse practitioners, and a tool that stents open throat tissue to maintain adequate ventilation during medical procedures for patients at risk of breathing problems.
The ANA is holding office hours for those interested in learning more about the application process and whether their work qualifies for the awards. Winners will be notified in November.
