5% of Pennsylvania Patients Readmitted for Infection, Complications in 2010

The Pennsylvania Health Care Cost Containment Council has released its inaugural Hospital Readmissions in Pennsylvania 2010 report, which details readmission rates among Pennsylvania hospitals, according to a Hospital & Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania news release.

The report shows that in 2010, 13.5 percent of hospital stays were followed by a readmission for any reason within 30 days, and 5.6 percent were followed by a readmission for a complication or infection.
