NPSF Announces New Strategic Plan, Vision

The National Patient Safety Foundation has announced it has updated its vision and mission to better address patient and healthcare worker safety.

The NPSF’s new vision is to “creat[e] a world where patients and those who care for them are free from harm.” Its new mission statement is: “NPSF partners with patients and families, the health community, and key stakeholders to advance patient safety and healthcare workforce safety and disseminate strategies to prevent harm.”

In addition, the NPSF’s four major areas of strategic focus include:

  • Engaging with patients, families and communities
  • Engaging the healthcare community
  • Partner with key stakeholders
  • Impact healthcare leaders and policy makers
