NPSF adds 4 members to governing boards

The National Patient Safety Foundation selected new members to serve on its board of directors and board of advisors.

Additions to NPSF’s board of directors:

•    Trent Haywood, MD, JD, president of Blue Cross Blue Shield Institute and senior vice president and CMO of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, both based in Chicago.
•    Karen Frush, MD, chief patient safety officer for Durham, N.C.-based Duke University Health System and vice president for quality at Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Health.

Additions to NPSF’s board of advisors:

•    Jason Adelman, MD, chief patient safety officer and associate chief quality officer at Columbia University Medical Center/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City.
•    Eric Thomas, MD, professor of medicine and associate dean for healthcare quality at University of Texas Medical School at Houston and director of the UT Houston-Memorial Hermann Center for Healthcare Quality and Safety.
