Partnership for Patients aims to reduce inpatient harm by 40 percent and hospital readmissions by 20 percent compared with 2010 levels by the end of 2013.
The California Hospital Association is also a subcontractor to the Health Research & Educational Trust, an affiliate of the American Hospital Association and one of the 26 organizations receiving CMS funding for patient safety and quality initiatives through Partnership for Patients’ Hospital Engagement Network. In addition, a majority of California hospitals participate in patient safety collaboratives to reduce hospital-acquired conditions, according to the news release.
