Minnesota Officials Investigate OR Fire That Burned a Patient in New River Medical Center

The Minnesota Department of Public Safety is investigating a surgical fire that occurred at New River Medical Center in Monticello late last month, according to a KSTP report.

According to the report, the surgical fire occurred during an operation and burned the patient. In addition to the state investigation, hospital officials confirmed they were executing an internal investigation to see how such an event can be prevented in the future.
