Minnesota Nurses Prepare for Largest Strike in U.S. History

Minnesota nurses have authorized the largest nursing strike in U.S. history to begin June 1, according to a news release from the Minnesota Nurses Association.

More than 12,000 nurses are prepared to strike unless a new contract agreement can be reached with six Twin Cities hospital systems. The current contract expires June 1.

The two major issues on the table are RN staffing levels and the nurses’ pension fund.
