Microsoft Sells Patent for Keyboard, Touchscreen Surface Disinfectant to Vioguard

Vioguard, a developer of self-sanitizing keyboards for the medical industry, finalized a patent sale agreement with Microsoft that includes the sale of U.S. patents for sterilizing surfaces on input devices.

Vioguard’s keyboard uses high power germicidal ultraviolet light. The patents are for disinfecting surfaces such as computer keyboards, touchscreens and miscellaneous input devices.

The specific terms of the agreement are confidential.
