Michigan health officials launch new website to promote vaccination

Michigan's Health and Human Services Department has launched new website to help improve the state's vaccination rates, according to WZZM.

The new website, ivaccinate.org, is designed to answer questions parents might have regarding immunization by providing easy access to information. The site also features video content about parents who were once undecided about vaccination in hopes of reaching parents who are not inclined to vaccinate their children.

"I think it's important to note that we can't force information on to people who are not willing to hear it. But this is where I think it becomes really powerful where you have parents talking to parents," said Eden Wells, MD, the state health department's CMO, according to WZZM. "That makes this campaign I think a lot more powerful than many of the other campaigns we've been involved with over the last couple years. That's why we're really proud and feel it's a very powerful one."

Michigan has the 7th lowest vaccination rate in the nation, according to WZZM.
