So far, 62 cases across nine California counties have been reported, five of which are Disneyland employees. The outbreak is the worst the state has seen in 15 years.
Of the cases reported in The Golden State, the vaccination status is known of only 34 individuals; 28 are unvaccinated, one is partially vaccinated and five are fully vaccinated.
Health officials throughout the state have been taking extremely strict measures to try and quell the transmission of the highly infections virus, according to the report.
Disneyland has asked all employees who are not vaccinated for measles or cannot confirm their vaccination status and who may have come in contact with one of the ill employees to go on paid leave.
In Orange County, Calif., unvaccinated children who may have come in contact with a contagious measles patient have been ordered to stay home from school by health officials for 21 days, and one high school told roughly two dozen students who were not vaccinated or had no proof of their status to stay away from campus.
After several patients visited an urgent care clinic in San Diego County, the clinic shut down and anyone without proof of their vaccination status who came in contact with the patients was put under mandatory quarantine for 21 days.
Measles cases reported outside of California that are tied to the Disneyland outbreak include Utah (three cases), Washington (two), Arizona (one) and Oregon (one). One case associated with the Disneyland outbreak has also been reported in Mexico.
In total, the ages of the individuals infected range from 7 months to 70 years old, according to the report.
