The Joint Commission has released a new Speak Up video to help people who are receiving home care maximize their care experience and health.
The video, entitled "Speak Up: At Home", emphasizes the importance of families and friends in delivery of quality home care and shows family and friends asking questions to better understand medical care.
The video also demonstrates a number of other behaviors and attitudes, emphasizing the importance of gathering information, asking questions to become informed, understanding equipment and medication and their uses and understanding caregiver schedules.
