Joint Commission International selects new quality & safety training program leader

Joint Commission International named Kathryn Leonhardt, MD, principal consultant of its expanded quality and safety training program.

The program is a customized education service for healthcare professionals. Dr. Leonhardt, who has worked at JCI since 2016 as a physician consultant, has more than 25 years of healthcare experience.

As a preventive medicine physician, Dr. Leonhardt has served in numerous leadership roles over the course of her career, including as vice president of patient experience and patient safety officer at a health system in Wisconsin.

Joint Commission International is a division of Joint Commission Resources, a wholly controlled, nonprofit affiliate of The Joint Commission. Its quality and safety training program has trained 800-plus participants over five years. This year, the program is being expanded to all 1,000 international accredited facilities.
