Joint Commission Establishes Patient Safety Goal to Manage Alarms

The Joint Commission has created a National Patient Safety Goal on Alarm Management for hospitals and critical access hospitals, effective Jan. 1, 2014.

The goal, NPSG.06.01.01, was created to improve the management of clinical alarms, thereby improving patient safety.
