IHI Releases 3 New Videos on ‘Science of Improvement’

The Institute for Healthcare Improvement has released three new videos in its quality improvement “Science of Improvement” series.

The videos, created by Robert Lloyd, IHI’s director of performance improvement, cover the collection and presentation of data with run charts to track systemic improvement, an interactive example of the use of run charts and the use of flowcharts and diagrams to identify areas for implementing process improvements.

Previous videos in this series include a lecture on Deming’s System of Profound Knowledge, how Deming’s system applies to hand hygiene, a lecture on The Model for Improvement from Associates in Process Improvement, the use of driver diagrams for illustrating systems and a lecture on plan-do-study-act cycles in the learning process.
