How to overcome challenges associated with HEDIS quality measures

With the new year approaching, health plans and health systems must assess their 2017 performance on Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set measures and gear up for 2018 quality improvement initiatives.

When managed correctly, HEDIS — a performance improvement tool used by more than 90 percent of America's health plans — can help identify patients in need of specific care services and help improve outcomes.

During a webinar hosted by Becker's Hospital Review, Erika Thorson, healthcare data supervisor for the Altoona, Wis.-based Group Health Cooperative of Eau Claire, will discuss how analytics can be used to enhance a quality improvement program. She will also share how increased engagement influences health plan relationships with members and how Group Health Cooperative has worked to break down social barriers to bridge gaps in care.

Tune in to get a health plan's perspective on challenges associated with HEDIS quality measures and hear a case study on a Group Health Cooperative mental health care coordination program.

The webinar will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. CT on Dec. 6. To register, click here
