The project’s long-term goal is to create a new, more sustainable healthcare system through cost containment. “It is critical that large, self-insured companies like Walmart be involved in this complex work that has the potential to serve as a model for the rest of the nation,” Arkansas Gov. Mike Beebe said.
Walmart will also serve on the APII Employer Advisory Council, fund information development and its distribution to the public and help underwrite a yearly tracking report to evaluate the project’s impact.
