Walgreens is First Pharmacy Chain Approved for CMS ACO Program

In partnership with physician groups in three states, Walgreens became the first national pharmacy chain to be approved by CMS to participate in accountable care organizations.

Advocare Walgreens Well Network in New Jersey, Diagnostic Clinic Walgreens Well Network in Florida and Scott & White Walgreens Well Network in Texas were all selected by CMS to participate in the Medicare Shared Savings Program.

Walgreens and the physician groups will work together to provide personalized pharmacy care.
