The organization, called Accountable Health Partners, would join Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, Highland Hospital in Rochester, F.F. Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua and faculty and private physicians under one payment model, according to the report.

“The AHP provides private practice physicians a seat at our table and we are eager to have them,” Raymond Mayewski, MD, CMO at URMC, told the Democrat and Chronicle. “The AHP…is essential as we evolve to newer health plans and as traditional, fee-for-service plans recede.”

AHP physicians would be rewarded for improving health results while lowering costs. Physicians would share in the savings under contracts with payors, according to the report.
