UMMC’s new affiliation with Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine is an effort to bring young physicians to Batavia in hopes that they will stay in the area and open their own primary care practices after their residency.
Four students will be accepted to the program each year and UMMC will pay for them to live in Batavia and work at the hospital, according to the report.
