The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society grants the Stage 7 Award — the highest stage possible — to organizations that have successfully deployed electronic medical records and no longer use paper charts to deliver patient care.

Only 1.1 percent of more than 5,000 hospitals in HIMSS’ database have been recognized with this award.
